Our First Tiny Home Build | 1991 Ford E-350 | Tiny Home Living | Minimalism | Simple By Lacey

Updated: Feb 8, 2020

We are so excited to be starting not only our first tiny home bus build but our first tiny home build ever!

This shuttle bus is a 1991 Ford E-350, with 75,000 original miles. The transmission is new and only has 10,000 miles wear that has accumulated over the last twenty years. The owners before us used it to transport antiques to sell at live auctions. This was not a daily bus for passengers and for that reason it has been kept in great condition. In the photo featured above was the first day we purchased the bus. We stopped by our local town beach and took pictures to document the original condition.

This bus transformation is for my mother, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 1998. She had two open head surgeries and has been in remission for 20 years, since 2000. She is now suffering from progressive neuropathy and is losing the sensation on her left side primarily her left foot and leg. She now requires full time care and can not stay in her home alone any longer. We will be converting this bus into her custom home that will be adapted to her needs for now and for the future. Richard and I will be building her a custom bed, shower and toilet wet room, kitchenette, a seating area and a bedroom. There will be custom shelving and storage in multiple areas and a deck with ramp directly outside her front door. Check back here to view the gutting of the bus! We will be posting new updates of every stage the bus goes through on here, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook! Follow us and see this awesome transformation take place.
